Lifestyle giant Target has recalled a bar stool amid concerns it could cause serious injury if used, after alerts were issued from an Australian consumer watchdog.
A recall alert for the Arlo Bar Stool, sold by Target both in-store and online from January 30, 2021 to October 5, 2022, was issued by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
The ACCC issued the alert, believing the stool’s legs are “not strong enough and may collapse when weight is applied”, potentially causing serious injury to the user.
The stool has a thatched or woven seat.
Target has issued a recall alert since and urges anyone who has purchased the stool to stop using it immediately, dismantle it and dispose of it.
To obtain a refund, consumers will need to email photo evidence of the dismantled stool to TargetRecalls@target.com.au.
The stool can also be returned in-store for a full refund.
