According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, Stacey Dash recently pled not guilty to the charges she was slapped with earlier in the week. On Wednesday, the Clueless alum pled not guilty to one charge of domestic battery according to documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
In the court docs, Dash stated she didn’t have the money to hire an attorney-at-law and needed the court to set one up for her. As it was previously reported, the political commentator was booked by the authorities after an incident on Sunday night.
Dash’s husband, Jeffrey Marty, dropped $500 to get Dash out of jail this past Monday. Documents from the Pasco County, Flordia judicial system revealed that the incident first began at 7:45 pm on Sunday night after she and her man got into an argument.
After pushing her husband, Dash slapped him in the face, and when the police showed up to the door, the victim was able to sustain red scratch marks on his upper left arm. Later, she was booked on domestic battery charges and taken to the Land O’Lakes Detention Facility without any additional problem.

On Monday, Stacey’s manager released a statement on her behalf, confirming that she and her husband had gotten into a domestic dispute in Tampa, Florida. Charges weren’t laid against her husband, however, the deputies did arrest Dash.
Her representative added that there weren’t any more charges withstanding. Furthermore, the rep claimed the dispute between both parties had been “blown out of proportion.” Sources who spoke with TMZ claimed it was actually her husband who hit Stacey, and she called the police in defense of herself.
Reportedly, Dash is a “domestic abuse survivor,” from past relationships and urges others to speak out, moreover, the statement claimed the media reports were simply inaccurate.
