Britt Ekland Biography
Britt Ekland is a Swedish actress and singer born on 6 October 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden as Britt-Marie Eklund. She was quite active in the movie industry in the 1960s and 1970s. Among her acclaimed work is William Friedkin’s The Night They Raided Minsky’s (1968) and the British crime film Get Carter (1971) that led her to be a sex symbol.
She was one of the most photographed celebrities in the world during the 1970s due to her marriage to actor Peter Sellers in 1964 as well as her high-profile social life.
Ekland attended a drama school and then joined a traveling theater group.

Ekland and Peter Sellers
Ekland has been married twice: her first marriage was to an English actor and comedian, Peter Sellers from 1964 to 1968. She stood by him after he suffered a series of heart attacks shortly after their marriage and she became the stepmother to Sellers’ children Sarah and Michael. In January 1965 the couple had a daughter by the name Victoria. They also made three films together — A Carol for Another Christmas (1964), After the Fox (1966) and The Bobo (1967) — before divorcing in 1968.
Ekland and Slim Jim Phantom
Her second marriage was in 1984, at the age of 42, when she married Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom, who was 19 years younger than her, aged 23. The two had a son by the name Thomas Jefferson who was born in 1988. They however divorced in 1992.

Ekland was in a much publicised romance with rock star Rod Stewart. The two were introduced in 1975 by Joan Collins and lived together for more than two years, with Ekland giving up her career to focus on the relationship.

Ekland has three children: a daughter and two sons. Victoria Sellers, an British actress, model and comedian is her first child who was born in 1965 from her marriage to actor Peter Sellers. In June 1973, she had a son by the name Nikolaj Adler with Lou Adler, an American Grammy Award-winning record producer and music executive. Ekland’s other son, Thomas Jefferson Mcdonnell was born in 1988 of her second marriage to Slim Jim Phantom.

Ekland’s first onscreen role was in G.I. Blues (1960) prior to which she had bit parts and un-credited walk-on roles. She also had a small supporting part in The Happy Thieves (1960) while in 1962 she had a role in the Swedish films Kort är sommaren.
In 1963, she played a role in Det är hos mig han har varit and in 1964 she had her first major supporting part in the George Marshall Western Advance to the Rear. Still in 1964, she appeared in the Christmas television film “A Carol for Another Christmas.” She also appeared in After the Fox in 1966. Her other films in the 60’s include: The Bobo (1967), The Night They Raided Minsky’s (1968), Stiletto (1969), Machine Gun McCain (1969), The Conspirators (1969), and The Cannibals (1970).
She had a role as a leading lady and gun moll in the iconic crime film Get Carter in 1971. She then appeared in several horror films in 1972 like; “What the Peeper Saw”, “Endless Night” and “Asylum”. Ekland’s role in the 1973 cult horror film “The Wicker Man” was her most iconic horror role in which she played a Pagan villager and seductress. In the film, her voice was dubbed to disguise her Swedish-accented English.
Throughout the 1970s she appeared in other films like: the thriller “The Ultimate Thrill” (1974) and the British drama “Baxter!” (1973). She was also cast in the TV film The Six Million Dollar Man: Wine, Women and War (1973). In 1974, she was cast as the lead Bond girl, Mary Goodnight, in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. In 1978, she appeared in the television movie Ring of Passion and in the horror pictures The Monster Club (1980) and Satan’s Mistress (1982).
Ekland has also appeared in several television series including the popular series Superboy and I Love the ’70s (1999). She also appeared in Grumpy Old Women Live, and also starred in the December 2007 and January 2008 Cinderella at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon. She was one of the housewives of Svenska Hollywoodfruar on TV3 during the 2013 season. In 2010, Ekland took part in the reality TV show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! where she was fourth to be voted off.

Britt Ekland Wicker Man
Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) arrives on the small Scottish island of Summerisle to investigate the report of a missing child. A conservative Christian, the policeman observes the residents’ frivolous sexual displays and strange pagan rituals, particularly the temptations of Willow (Britt Ekland), daughter of the island magistrate, Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee). The more Sergeant Howie learns about the islanders’ strange practices, the closer he gets to tracking down the missing child.
